Agent arrested amid probe into Aleksandar Mitrovic transfer to Newcastle from Anderlecht

Agent Christophe Henrotay was detained as a part of the investigation into corruption and money laundering in player transfers, according to AFP.
A judicial source confirmed that the 2015 switch from Anderlecht to Newcastle for # 13m of Aleksandar Mitrovic is among those transfers under analysis.
Brussels prosecutors have verified two people were detained, and that many raids took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in London, Belgium and Monaco.
Police cooperated with British counterparts and their Monaco, resulting in the representative in Monaco’s arrest, and prosecutors also confirmed the representative’s assistant was detained in Belgium’s Wallonia region, in the Liege region.
Brussels national prosecutors said the raids are connected to a primary wave of searches in April, when police uttered the offices of Anderlecht as well as the Belgian Football Association.
No arrests were made in April and, in accordance with AFP, investigators are focusing on the representative Henrotay, whose clients include Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Belgium national staff winger Yannick Carrasco.
Four of this week’s raids have been in one in London, two in Belgium and Monaco, together with the cooperation of the Metropolitan Police and British traditions and revenue officers, according to AFP.
This instance isn’t related to the corruption scandal that dissipates Belgian football last year, when authorities carried out 57 police raids from the nation and around Europe at a probe into fraud and also match-fixing.
Before joining Fulham on 15, mitrovic spent three decades in Newcastle and then permanently in 2018, at which he signed a new contract at the Championship club and still remains.
