Dream earns Cornwallis shot at Newmarket
Fantasy Shot Might be headed for the Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket Second month after Setting a personal best Screen when runner-up in the Flying Childers Stakes.
Trainer James Tate was thrilled with the way the Dream Ahead colt finished his race to claim second spot, just a period behind the Breeders’ Cup jumped A’Ali in the Group Two.
“He ran a blinder. He is not the simplest. He’s a bit stricter. He came home well and that was certainly a career-best effort,” stated the Newmarket handler.
“I would have believed something similar to the Cornwallis would be on his radar.
“He has an entrance in a Listed race (Harry Rosebery Stakes) in Ayr this week although the Cornwallis would be likely.”
Tate revealed Kyllang Rock is not likely to take up his Trophy unless ground condition ease.
“He’s in good shape. He won his conditions race nicely the other day (at Nottingham),” he said.
“He does like simplicity from the ground along with the forecast looks fairly dry at the moment.
“I’d say he’ll probably sidestep the weekend before the prediction changed”
