Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhuttl wary of Tottenham’s quality

Tottenham are”even more dangerous” following a bad run of results that has left them like a injured boxer, says Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Spurs have won four of their past 17 matches – after losing on penalties from League 2 Colchester United, and on Tuesday night that they jumped in the third round out of their Carabao Cup.
Hasenhuttl takes his Saints side-by-side London on Saturday -”it’s a major challenge, but we like such challenges” – and also the Austrian is wary of facing the wrath of a defeated Spurs team.
“As always, like a fighter, if he is knocked a tiny bit he is even more dangerous, so pay attention.” , stated Hasenhuttl before Saturday’s trip.
“We do not seem too much on these. I believe it’s important for us to concentrate on our qualities. We like these challenges, although we know it’s a significant obstacle.
“Our last far games were quite good – much better than our house games – so we are not fearful about this particular game, we love to go there.
“It’s on usand how we believe in our qualities and how we know to compete against the large teams away from home. In away games it must be ideal, if we do not do that it’s difficult.
“It is never an edge against a large team if they’re struggling because you must remain conscious of the quality they’ve. We expect the hardest opponent we could imagine.”
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino attained success in their own 18-month spell responsible for Southampton, carrying them to an ending in the Premier League – the highest in the history of the club.
Hasenhuttl is a admirer of the predecessor Pochettino that he says shot Spurs”from an extremely fighting team to a Champions League finalist”.
“I think he did a wonderful job in Tottenham. I believe it’s incredible the job he does there,” additional Hasenhuttl.
Last year, however, Hasenhuttl was victorious in his first meeting against Pochettino – although the Argentine was not present from the dugout owing to his rant at referee Mike Dean.
“Last year, he wasn’t permitted to sit down on the bench, so perhaps that is why we were able to take the three points,” he added.
“I really don’t understand how we won this game since they should have been up in the first half. So it was a great second half. We had a few subs from the half-time and we all took more risks.
“If you want to take points against such a group, you want a nearly perfect performance, and even then you are not sure.”
