Kieren Fallon excited to be riding in Leger Legends
Kieren Fallon is excited about riding at Doncaster on Wednesday, on the card Cieren, as his son.
Even the champion jockey makes his return to the saddle at the Mondialiste Leger Legends race board Nigel Tinkler’s Kilbaha Lady.
The likes of Mick Kinane Sir Anthony McCoy, Joseph O’Brien and Charlie Swan are to the roster of honor and Fallon would like to add his name to the listing.
Fallon retired from 2016, but has been keeping his eye in by hanging out on Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor. He is expected to take part in a similar event in the Curragh on Sunday – the Pat Smullen Champions Race for Cancer Trials Ireland.
It’s the prospect of sharing the room with his champion apprentice-elect son which Fallon is pleased about while looking forward to action Town Moor.
Fallon said:”Obviously I am excited about the race, however I never once thought I’d get the chance to ride on the same card since Cieren jnr, therefore I am very enthusiastic about having the ability to accomplish that. He has been telling me I should come out of retirement!
“Also I am looking forward to Sunday and going back over to Ireland for a cause that’s quite worthwhile. This is far from a warm-up, however.
“It would be amazing if we can either ride a winner on exactly precisely the same afternoon, that could be a thing .”
Fallon jnr includes a ride for Tinkler over the opening day of the William Hill St Leger Festival.
The connection goes a long way together with Julie Fallon, ex-wife of Kieren and mum of Cieren back, working for the trainer in the past.
Tinkler said:”Kieren appears as fit now as if he was riding – he seems in fantastic shape.
“I’m thrilled to have him riding for us as he’s ridden a great couple winners for us previously and his spouse rode for ustoo.
“Kilbaha Lady conducted well at Newcastle last time to finish moment and she seems well in herself. Hopefully she moves to Doncaster having a fantastic each-way chance.”
Of Fallon jnr, the trainer added:”He’s got a different style for his dad, but he is certainly an excellent rider.
“This is his first trip for me and I expect he has a fantastic chance. Roundhay Park has been a bit disappointing this year, but at exactly the identical time he has run some decent races .”
Noel Fehily rides distance and class winner Hammer Gun for coach Derek Shaw. Fehily retired following a stellar career, during which he rode more than 1,000 National Hunt winners – such as in the Champion Hurdle and the King George VI Chase in March.
Fehily stated:”I am excited about getting back in the saddle. The horse has some form to his title and he’s a class a space winner, so he’ll operate – .
“I’d be quite keen to acquire it. It’ll be great fun and it is for a fantastic cause, but we’re all aggressive at the end of the day and I’m sure we’ll all be doing our very best to come out on top.”
Andrew Thornton has helped organise the Leger Legends races and is hoping to time his effort better than once instant on Les Eyre’s Detachment 12 months ago.
