New Zealand have called coach Bob Carter and former Northamptonshire player as the women’s team’s head trainer.
He replaces.
After two spells as assistant coach of the men’s team, Carter, 59, had been for their series against Australia.
His contract runs until the end of this 2021 World Cup.
Carter squad will assemble for a coaching camp later this season, however they are next in aggressive action in the lead-up into the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia which begins on 21 February when they host South Africa, in January.
But for that tournament he will be Amy Satterthwaite, who declared last month that she is expecting her first child using wife Lea Tahuhu and team-mate in January.
Norfolk-born Carter was director of cricket in 1999 until his sacking in 2002, and had played for Northants between 1985 and 1978.
